Photo-Gallery On-Line User ManualFor a comprehensive manual on the website page editor click here. The on-line manual below includes full details on how to create and manage public and private galleries.
The gallery uses a Java multiple file uploader which means that you must have Java installed on your computer before you can use it. Download the latest FREE Java Runtime Environment direct from www.java.com
IMPORTANT: Before uploading any photos into your gallery RESIZE them in PhotoShop (or other image editing software) to a max 800 pixels width (optimum size is 700 pixels width) and save them at 72dpi (image resolution).
Do not upload images from your digital camera without first resizing them. Browsers can only display images at 72dpi, but digital images are typically saved at 300dpi which is much to large for websites.
Click on the Upload Images tab to launch the Java file uploader. Then click on the Add Files button.
A file browser will open which allows you to navigate to the folder on your computer where you have saved your images. Click on an image filename and the image will display. This makes it easy for you to select the required photos.
You can upload multiple images at once, so simply press and hold the Ctrl button on your keyboard and click on the images that you want to upload.
Press the Open button to add the selected photos to the Java uploader. You will then see them listed. You can then add more photos from other folders on your computer simply by repeating the above process.
Once you have added all the photos that you want to upload, press the Upload Files button to start the upload process.
The upload process will take some time depending on how many photos you are uploading, so wait until the process has completed. You can see the status of the upload by watching the progress bars which also show which files are being uploaded. The list also indicates which files have been uploaded.
Once the upload process has completed the Java uploader will close and the thumbnail images will be generated, so please wait while this second stage completes. You will then see all the images displayed in the thumbnail grid.
You can now edit the image descriptions (if required) by simply clicking on the thumbnail which displays that image in the main display panel. Under the photo you can see a field where the image filename is displayed. Simply edit this to add your own image description and press Edit Image Description to save it.

To select an image to be the main thumbnail display for that gallery, simply select the appropriate image and press the Set as gallery description link under the photo.
To delete any image, first select it and then press the Delete Image link under the photo.
