| Transfering your .co.uk domain name to our servers |
Log in to www.123-reg.co.uk (or wherever you registered your domain name) and access your domain admin control panel.
Under 'Manage Domains' select your domain name and click 'Modify Domain'.
From the list of options click on 'Change IPS Tag'
Enter HEARTINTERNET in the IPS Tag field and press 'Change IPS Tag Now'
You can now log out of your control panel.
These instructions will be similar for other domain name registration websites.
Let me know as soon as you have done this so I can arrange for the transfer at our end.
The change will take up to 48 hours for your domain name to direct to your website.

After we submit the transfer request you will have to acknowledge the transfer both with OpenSRS and your current registrar. Both requests will be sent to the current e-mail address listed on your domain name record.
The first message you will receive will look like the following:
From: "OpenSRS Transfers" transfers@opensrs.org
To: you@youradminemail.com
Subject: Transfer Request for thedomainname.com
A request has been received to transfer the domain thedomainname.com
to Heart Internet, an authorized Reseller of the domain
Registrar OpenSRS/Tucows. This request was entered at Wed Mar
5 13:43:39 2003 by Customer Name. If you have questions about this
transfer, please contact Heart Internet.
This transfer will be processed by OpenSRS/Tucows (Tucows Inc), a
ICANN accredited Registrar on behalf of Heart Internet. If
this is a valid request and you wish to approve this transfer, please visit
the following URL and follow the instructions:
https://rr-n1-tor.opensrs.net/transfers/index.cgi?rid=123456
You will need to enter the following information to complete the
transfer:
Domain Name: yourdomainname.com
Transfer Key: XXXXXXXXXX
If you do not wish to approve this transfer, you may simply ignore this
message and the request will expire in 7 days, or you can use the
Domain Name and Transfer Key above to cancel the transfer
immediately.
Accepting this transfer will change the Registrar Of Record for your
domain from its current registrar to TUCOWS/OpenSRS; it may also
change some of the contact information. You can view what contact
information will change using the "WHOIS Comparator" on the Transfer
Confirmation webpage listed above. Note that your nameservers (DNS)
will not change as a direct result of this transfer.
Please be aware that your current Registrar may require you to confirm
with them of your intentions to transfer your domain name. If they do
not receive confirmation they may not release it. Contact your current
Registrar for details on how to approve your transfer-away with them.
If you are receiving this email, you should have initiated this request, or
been aware that someone else did so. If this is the first time that you've
heard of this, do not accept the transfer until you are satisfied that the
request is legitimate.

When you click the link in the above message it takes you to a web page with a field for Domain name and Transfer key. Enter the information exactly as it is in the e-mail and click "Retrieve Transfer Request" On the next screen you have to click the "Accept" check box, enter your phone number and click the "Submit" button at the bottom.
Shortly after you will receive an e-mail from your current registrar which should be similar to the following:

Subject: Information about your account
Dear Customer:
We have received a request to transfer your domain name,
YOURDOMAINNAME.COM, to another registrar.
If this is not a valid request, no action is necessary. Your domain
name registration will not be changed.
If you would like to confirm your request to change your registrar,
please go to https://domaintransfer123.com/?h=123456789xyz123
or paste the URL into your browser and follow the instructions. In order
to process this request, please respond within 96 hours from the time
stamp of this e-mail, or the request to change your registrar will be
denied. The timestamp of this e-mail and the time to respond are based
on Eastern Standard Time.

Once you go to the page specified you will have to follow the instructions on the page to acknowledge the transfer (typically you have to click an accept box and a "Submit" button at the bottom).
If everything was submitted correctly the domain should transfer within 24 hours of confirmation.
